New state-of the art processing capabilities with the MDA Corporation
Products Generation System include the ability to automatically receive
LANDSAT-7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE) files containing post-pass satellite state
vectors. This information is used to update the satellite orbit model in the image
production process resulting in a significant improvement in the minimum relative
spatial accuracy to +/- 50 metres for all MDA Corporation LANDSAT-7 Data Products.
Without the use of DE files in the production of LANDSAT-7 Data Products, the
Path and the Map Image Products would have a relative spatial accuracy of +/- 250
metres. This is typically what is currently available from almost all LANDSAT 7
data providers including the USGS EROS Data Center.
Derived Image Products, such as Precision Map Image, and Enhanced Image
Products, such as Ortho Image, are produced by using ground control points and
digital elevation models, respectively, resulting in even greater relative spatial
accuracy for these Data Products.

Path Image
|
|
LANDSAT 7 Path Image products are equivalent to EROS Data Center (EDC)
level 1G images, geocorrected, systematic radiometrically corrected, and path
oriented meaning oriented to satellite heading and World Reference System framed.
Data is processed further to improve spatial accuracy by using the
LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE) files to achieve relative accuracy of 50m.
-
Shift-along satellite track service available for scenes archived at the
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS).
-
Data output format in HDF or FASTL7A or GEOTIFF.

|
Map Image
|
|
LANDSAT 7 Map Image products are equivalent to EROS Data Center (EDC)
level 1G images, geocorrected, systematic radiometrically corrected, and map
oriented meaning oriented to true-north up or map north up and lat/long or World
Reference System framed. Data is processed further to improve spatial accuracy
by using the LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE) files to achieve relative
accuracy of 50m.
-
Shift-along satellite track service available for scenes archived at the
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS).
-
Data output format in HDF or FASTL7A or GEOTIFF.

System Terrain Corrected Image
|
|
LANDSAT 7 System Terrain Corrected Image products are geometrically and
radiometrically corrected, path or map oriented. Data is processed further to
improve spatial accuracy by using both the LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE)
files and GTOPO30 Digital Elevation Models. Average relative accuracy of 50-m
RMS or better. For most applications, clients are now able to purchase a
superior spatially accurate LANDSAT 7 product without having to purchase a
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and an orthorectified LANDSAT 7 image. Data
output format in HDF or FASTL7A or GEOTIFF.

|
Precision Map Image
|
|
|
LANDSAT 7 Precision Map Image products are equivalent to EROS Data Center
(EDC) level 1G images, geocorrected, systematic radiometrically corrected and
map oriented. Data is processed using the LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE)
files. In addition, the image is precision corrected by refining the satellite model
through the use of ground control points to achieve relative accuracy of 30m.
-
Shift-along satellite track service available for scenes archived at the
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS).
-
Data output format in HDF or FASTL7A or GEOTIFF.

|
Pan-sharpened Path Image
|
|
|
LANDSAT 7 Pan-sharpened Path Image products are geometrically and
radiometrically corrected, path oriented and co-registered. Data is processed
further to improve spatial accuracy by using the LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris
(DE) files to achieve relative accuracy of +/- 50m RMS. The client has a choice of
selecting any three of the LANDSAT 7 bands, which are then resampled and
transformed in terms of intensity, hue and saturation and then merged with 15-m
panchromatic band 8. Other processing transformations such as the Brovey or
principal components tranformations may be used in processing the data in order
to maximize output.
-
Shift-along satellite track service available for scenes archived at the
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS).
-
Data output format in HDF or FASTL7A or GEOTIFF.

Pan-sharpened Map Image
|
|
Pan-sharpened Map Image products are geometrically and radiometrically
corrected, map oriented and co-registered. Data is processed further to improve
spatial accuracy by using the LANDSAT 7 Definitive Ephemeris (DE) files to
achieve relative accuracy of 50m.
The client has a choice of selecting any three of the LANDSAT 7 bands, which are then resampled
and transformed in terms of intensity, hue and saturation and then merged with 12.5-m Map Image
panchromatic band 8. Other processing transformations such as the Brovey or principle components
tranformations may be used in processing the data in order to maximize output.
-
Shift-along satellite track service available for scenes archived at the
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS).
-
This product is delivered in GEOTIFF format.

|
Ortho-Image
|
|
LANDSAT 7 Ortho-Image products are geometrically and radiometrically
corrected, map oriented and precision corrected through the use of ground control
points (GCP). The process of orthorectification uses GCP to adjust the orbit
ephemeris and then uses the adjusted ephemeris and a Digital Elevation Model
(DEM) to correct for terrain distortion and produce the orthorectified image. The
DEM is supplied by the client or by MDA Corporation for an additional
cost.
-
Relative accuracy is dependant on the accuracy of the DEM used to
orthorectify the image.
-
This product is delivered in GEOTIFF format.
