MDA is a N. American distributor for imagery from the IKONOS high resolution optical satellite. Launched on Sept 24th 1999, the satellite is capable of providing imagery at resolutions of 4m (multispectral) and 1m (panchromatic) that can be used in a range of markets including agriculture, mapping, state and local governments, oil and gas, utilities, emergency response, natural resources, telecommunications, tourism, national security, insurance, news gathering and others.
