Assessing the risks of gradual land movement in environmental risk zones, near buildings, bridges pipelines, etc. is an expensive proposition using conventional ground observation techniques. With the increasing availability of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) remote sensing data and interferometric SAR (InSAR) analysis techniques, the concept of monitoring such risks on a regional and longterm scale is now a reality. MDA introduces the Coherent Target Monitoring (CTM) module to its EarthView InSAR software. InSAR CTM processing is an iterative methodology using multiple scenes (20+) and modeling techniques to achieve unprecedented results in the analysis of slow moving targets (sub-centimeter movement).
