RASARSAT-2 was tracking the Category 1 Hurricane Earl as it swirled through the US Coast and hit the Southern tip of Nova Scotia on mid-morning Saturday. RADARSAT-2's ability to collect imagery independent of weather conditions coupled with its highly responsive tasking, makes it a valuable tool for collecting imagery in support of regional and local damage assessment.
